Ontario Fly Fishing Clubs

Ontario has a large amount of fly fishing opportunities.  One of the best ways to familiarize yourself with these opportunities is to join a local fly fishing club.

Izaak Walton Fly Fishing Club (Mississauga)– The Izaak Walton Flyfishing Club is a public, non-profit group of men, women and youth who enjoy fly fishing. The club was formed by 26 participants in February, 1971, to promote fly fishing and conservation of our aquatic resources. Forest City Fly Fishing Club (London) – FCFF is located in London, Ontario.  Regular meetings, tying sessions and presentations are available year round to members.  http://www.fcfc.ca/

The Franklin Club (Mount Albert) – Located forty-five minutes north of Toronto, at West Franklin, near the town of Mount Albert, The Franklin Club is a member-owned, private recreational fishing club specializing in fly-fishing for rainbow and speckled trout.  The Club ensures the quality of its fish stock by maintaining one of Ontario’s finest hatchery facilities.  http://www.thefranklinclub.ca/

Pine Ridge Fly Fishing Club (Orono) – The Pine Ridge Fly Fishing Club serves both the Kawartha’s and the north shore of Lake Ontario, combining interests in both cold and warm water fly fishing. Cold Creek Fly Fishers (Orland) – Cold Creek Fly Fishers is a long standing organization which has been looking after one of Ontario’s premier trout fisheries since 1976. The club, in cooperation with the Trent Valley Conservation Authority, and the MNR, acts as a collection of river keepers as well as fly fishing and tying enthusiasts.  http://www.coldcreekflyfishers.org/

 Winter Hatches Fly Fishing Club (Toronto) – As with most fish, flyfishers can’t live long out of water…so here’s how to “stay wet” in Toronto between fishing seasons: meet with us at the Winter Hatches Flyfishing Club. Through the fall and winter, our club anglers gather to share tips, tactics, and talk about trips. Hamilton Area Fly Fishers (Hamilton) – Founded in 1992, 55 interested people attended the first meeting. One of the first orders of business was to decide on a name for the club. The Hamilton Area Fly Fishers and Tyers was born. The stated purpose of the club is “To share information among people with a common interest in Fly Fishing and Fly Tying and to promote the sport of Fly Fishing.”  http://www.hafft.ca/

KW Fly Fishers (Kitchener/Waterloo) – Whether you are new to the sport, or new to the area, all you need to be welcomed to the Club is a growing or long-established love of flyfishing. Current members range in experience from complete novices to professional guides. SFBCA (Scarborough/GTA) – The Scarborough Fly and Bait Casting Association, established in 1975, is one of the top fishing clubs serving anglers in the Greater Toronto Area.
